Kerrie Clyde BScEcon BSc PGCE
Kerrie Clyde established Double Check in February 2014 following many years of really enjoying the task of proofreading and editing the academic works of colleagues, family and friends. Prior to making her hobby into a business, Kerrie worked for six years as a teacher requiring routine proofreading of GCSE and AS-Level coursework and exams. Following this, Kerrie returned to a life of study and gained a First Class Honours Degree in Social Work. Kerrie has also tutored English Language and English Literature throughout the years and has a genuine passion for the English Language and editing the work of others.
Proofreading in a nut shell
Proof reading is double checking your work before submitting and is an integral part of any academic work. Generally individuals lose an average of 5% of their grade due to poor grammar and punctuation. Common errors include typing and spelling mistakes such as defuse and diffuse, weather and whether and lose or loose. It is also surprising the amount of people who do not know the difference between 'your' and 'you're', 'their' and 'they're' and 'its' and 'it's'. Double Check take these worries out of your hands and ensure these mistakes do not happen!
